PURVIEW
Makes targeted amendments to the Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code to address the evolving online-information environment. Its significance for AI regulation lies in the way the intermediary regime is adapted to new risks associated with synthetic, manipulated or otherwise harmful digital content and with platform accountability. For organisations deploying generative AI, content-generation systems or AI-enabled platform features, it is relevant to compliance design around user-facing content, notices, grievance handling, due diligence and platform governance. The amendment came into force on 20 February 2026.
