California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA)

The California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA) is a comprehensive privacy law that amends and expands the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The CPRA strengthens consumer privacy protections by introducing enhanced rights relating to sensitive personal information, data minimisation, automated decision-making, and consumer control over data sharing. The Act establishes the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA), increases compliance obligations for businesses, and strengthens enforcement mechanisms for privacy violations.
