PURVIEW

Sets out TRAI’s policy recommendations on privacy, security and ownership of data in the telecom sector. It addresses the governance of subscriber data, data ownership and control, security safeguards, consent-related concerns, transparency and the balance between innovation and user rights. For AI, it is useful because telecom datasets are increasingly used for analytics, personalisation, fraud detection and automated network services, making sector-specific expectations around privacy, security, purpose and control highly relevant.

Classification and legal status. Non-binding recommendations to Government / sector policy; not delegated legislation.
